Somaliland military court slaps soldier with death sentence for killing woman

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somaliland military court has today sentenced to death Colonel Salah Bullale Jama, who killed Najma Abdillahi Maykal, an employee attached to the Somaliland Ministry of Agriculture, in Hargeisa on Tuesday last week.

According to person’s close to the deceased, Najma, who was engaged last month met her untimely death under unclear circumstances in the region’s capital, while she was out to do shopping for her wedding which was scheduled to take place after Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

Prosecutors meted out the harsh sentence on Colonel Salah Jama after all evidence pointed out that he had deliberately killed the unharmed Somaliland employee in cold blood.
