Somaliland President meets with opposition parties leaders

The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi, accompanied by the Vice President, Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail met on Monday with opposition party leaders UCID and WADDANI, Mr Faisal Ali Warabe and Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi over discussion related to the general situation of Somaliland.

The meeting between the president and opposition party leaders UCID and WADDANI focused on three major issues that the two parties discussed extensively which was

• Working together with the leadership of the national parties to the best possible election time.
• To work with the three national parties to overcome the obstacles on holding the local council elections.
• Collaborate with the three national parties on the elders’ proposals on election issues.

The president and the leaders of the opposition parties have agreed to hold consultations with their parties, and have scheduled further meetings to discuss other issues on the ground.
