Somalis reap big in Ruto’s government
GOOBJOOG NEWS|NAIROBI: Somalis have reaped big in the new government formed by Kenya’s newly elected leader, William Ruto.
Hussein Mohamed, a former Citizen TV news anchor, has been appointed the new State House Spokesman, replacing Kanze Dena, another former TV news reader who worked at the same station as Hussein.
Amin Mohamed Ibrahim has also been appointed the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), replacing George Kinoti, who resigned.
Ibrahim Mohamed, who previously served as the Police Internal Affairs Unit boss, prides himself on having over 30 years of experience in criminal investigations.
The two appointments follow the naming of former Garissa MP, Hon. Aden Duale, as the Cabinet Secretary of Defence.
It should also be noted that all the heads of Kenya’s top security organs hail from the Somali community, with the Directorate of Public Prosecution being Noordin Haji and Noor Gabow, the acting Inspector General.
