South West to elect first MPs today, Galmudug to pick one more

GOOBJOOG NEWS|SOMALIA: South West and Galmudug Federal Member States will today be electing a total of four MPs in the continuing electoral exercise.

In Dhusamareb, delegates will be voting for seat HoP #54 currently occupied by Abdishakur Ali Mire while in Baidoa, three seats will be up for the vote.

The seats are HOP # 18, HOP # 170 and HOP # 171 currently held by Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman, Iman Abdullahi and Fawzia Mohamed Sheikh respectively. Mursal is the outgoing Lower House speaker.

Galmudug has since elected four MPs while Southj West is starting off its Lower House elections today.

The Somaliland caucus, which began the exercise has elected six MPs.
