Three killed in clan clashes in Middle Shabelle

At least three people were killed and several others wounded last night after a deadly attack between clan clashes broke our in Middle Shabelle region Somalia.

Rival clan militias engaged in battle in Goolaley village in the outskirt Bal’ad town.

The fighting clan militias have over been to a farmland dispute has lasted for hours and displaced the people in the village.

“The situation of the area now remains calm and elders in the region are in efforts to ease the tension between the two clans in the areas.” witnesses said

Arguments over land use, boreholes and pasture have perennially contributed to fighting among Somali clans who are largely pastoralists.
