Turkey’s Defense Minister to arrive in Mogadishu
Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar is expected to arrive in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
The delegation led by the defence minister is accompanied by the Chief of the Turkish Army, Chief of Staff and the head officials of TIKA.
The minister is expected to have talks with his counterpart in Somalia to improve the relations between the Somali government and the Turkish government.
Halusi Akar will also visit the Turkish government base in Mogadishu which is a training base for the Somali forces.
Turkish Defense Minister Halusi Akar will also expect to meet with top officials from the Federal Government of Somalia to discuss security issues and the fight against Al-Shabaab.
Turkey has played a key role in the rebuilding of the armed forces in Mogadishu as a base for training high-level military forces, including officers, officials, and co-operation between the two countries.
