Two hotly contested seats up for grabs in Beletweyne today
GOOBJOOG NEWS/JOWHAR: Hirshabelle State Elections Implementation Team is today set to hold elections for two hotly contested seats in Beletweyne town.
Nine candidates including Banadir Regional Administration Secretary Hiirey, former MP Ibrahim Habeb will be vying for seat HOP063 previously held by Abdullahi Godah Barre, a former Somali Minister of Education, who will be seeking to defend his seat.
The second seat, HOP 011 will today be contested by former Minister of Security Abdirizak Omar Mohamed, who will be vying for the seat a second time and Mohamed Omar Mohamed.
The Hirshabelle electoral process has surpassed the second deadline following a dispute between President Gudlawe and his deputy Dabageed, due to what is alleged to be interference from the VillaSomalia.
