Two Police Officers Executed in Somaliland for Murder of Colleagues

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HARGEISA: Two police officers were executed by firing squad on Saturday in Somaliland after they were found guilty of killing fellow police officers.

The two officers faced the firing squad in a public square outside Mandera Prison in the capital Hargeisa after they were convicted by a military court. The first accused, whose name was not immediately publicly available, was found guilty of killing Major Abdi Ali Nur, the commandant of Mohamed Mooge Police Station on February 18, 2025 in Hargeisa.

The second, whose identity too was not released, stabbed a police officer in Gabiley town located about 60 kilometers west of Hargeisa.
