VP Karaash axes three ministers amid Deni’s absence

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: Puntland Vice President and who is currently the acting President of Puntland has fired three controversial ministers, following a fall-out with Said Abdullahi Deni, further straining relations between the two.

Karaash has axed very close allies to President Deni; the Minister of Security, Abdisamad Galan and replaced him with Ahmed Bakin, Minister of Interior Dhabancad, has been replaced with Abdiqani Isse, and the Minister of Finance, Hassan Abgaal has been replaced with Abdirizak Gawido. 

The Minister of Finance, a close friend and a long term ally of Said Abdullahi Deni is reportedly said to have been shown the door after he defied President Karaash’s orders directing him to facilitate the handover the post of deputy director-general of revenue duties from Abdhir Mohamed Abshir to Ahmed Shire who was appointed by Karash in late April

A brewing storm is imminent in Puntland as Vice President Karaash’s decision to purge out Deni’s inner circle is bound to further escalate tensions with Said Deni who is in Mogadishu battling it out for the big seat.
