Water shortage hits Galgadud’s Gadoon locality

Reports from Gadoon locality in Galggaduud region state that there is high scarcity of water in the area.

The acute shortage of water in Gadon has directly affected hundreds of pastoralist families and their livestock.

The water sources especially wells have broken down mecanically and that led the rendered difficult the lives of the locals encouraging most to move to other areas in search of water.

Mire, a traditional elder in the area told Goobjoog FM that locality’s dams which were the only sources of water in the area  had dried up earlier.

On the other hand the elder added that there is outbreak of diseases such as malaria and called upon the government, local and international humanitarian agencies to assist these needy people.
