GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: The Puntland administration has issued a series of stringent security and political measures, including a ban on federal military officials and politicians accused of potentially fueling instability within Puntland territories.

According to the statement, no meetings, gatherings, or activities organized by what Puntland described as illegal militias will be permitted within its jurisdiction. Authorities warned that any individual found participating in or facilitating such activities will face legal action.

Puntland further declared that it will not allow the presence of armed forces that do not operate under its authority. The administration also cautioned the Federal Government of Somalia against deploying troops or transporting weapons into Puntland without legal authorization.

The measures come at a time when opposition politicians are gathering in Garowe, amid reports of military movements allegedly linked to the Federal Government of Somalia.

Puntland called for respect for the security framework and administrative structures governing its territories, stressing that anyone found undermining the region’s security and stability would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The latest decisions are expected to further impact relations between Puntland and the Federal Government, as political disagreements between the two sides continue to deepen.
