Aspiring Lawmaker attacked in a dispute over seat in Garowe

GOOBJOOG NEWS/GAROWE: A candidate vying for a seat in the Lower House of Parliament in Garowe escaped death by a whisker after gunmen opened fire at him while he was in his car.

Mohamed Farah Nur (Mohamed Dheere), who is contesting for the HOP 192 seat, is reported to have escaped with minor injuries, but two of his bodyguards were wounded in the attack.

The bone of contention is said to be based on a dispute over the HOP192 seat, which is expected to be held in Garowe tomorrow.

The aspiring lawmaker, who received his candidacy certificate today, was reportedly embroiled in issues surrounding his seat, resulting in the incident.
