Azerbaijan Delegation Arrives in Mogadishu to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: A high-level delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Refiyev, arrived in Mogadishu on Tuesday as the two nations work to strengthen diplomatic relations.
The delegation was received by Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Omar Balcad, who noted that both countries are keen on expanding cooperation across various sectors.
The Azerbaijani delegation is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with top Somali officials, alongside Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Somalia and other key development stakeholders.
Minister Ali Omar Balcad emphasized the strong diplomatic ties between Somalia and Azerbaijan, stating that the visit underscores the growing relationship between the two nations.
“The visit of the Azerbaijani delegation is a testament to the deepening relationship between our countries. We are optimistic about expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and development,” the minister said.
The arrival of the Azerbaijani delegation comes at a time when Somalia is actively engaging with international partners to bolster its economic recovery and enhance its diplomatic presence globally.
The visit is expected to pave the way for enhanced bilateral cooperation, with discussions likely to focus on trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
