Balanbale administration appeals humanitarian agencies to support drought hit people in the region

Many families who were displaced by the prolonged droughts in Galgadud region reached Balanbale district.

Balanbale district commissioner Mohamed Mohamud stated that the families were affected by acute shortages of food and water adding that they are desperate for emergency help.

The commissioner also stated the families have not received any support from humanitarian agencies since they reached Balabale except a small amount of assistance they got from their neighbours.

He called the aid agencies and, the federal government and well-wishers to deliver emergency support to the drought hit residents in the region.
