Breaking News: Somali president due to visit Kismayo
The president of the republic of Somalia Hassan Mohamud is expected to visit the port city of Kismayo on Thursday as sources in Somali presidency confirm.
Preliminary delegates led by the outgoing minister for finance Hussein Abdi Halane landed at Kismayo airport before minutes as our correspondent in Lower Juba region reports.
Preparations to welcome president Hassan and his delegation are actively going on in the airport and Kismayo state house, the security of the district was tightened as the forces of interim administration of Juba and African Union Peace-keeping troops are seen patrolling the main streets.
President Hassan’s trip to Kismayo comes a day after he nominated Somali ambassador to US as the third premier of Somali federal government.
