Bur-Hakaba: IDPs face desperate humanitarian conditions
Internally displaced people who reached Bur-Hakaba district in Bay region are facing desperate humanitarian conditions after the prices of basic needs in the markets sky rocketed.
Hussein Mohamed Ali, the vice chairman of Bur-Hakaba administration told Goobjoog FM that the internally people that reached the district are in need of immediate humanitarian support.
He stated that the people are in need of water since there is acute shortage of water in the district and the nearby areas.
He called the Federal government of Somalia and humanitarian aid agencies to immediately deliver emergency support to the suffering people.
Finally he stated that the vulnerable people may die if an emergency humanitarian support is not delivered quickly.
On Friday six people have been confirmed dead due to hunger and thirst in Bur-dubo and Garbaharey districts of the Gedo region, south-west Somalia.
