Cabinet okays disability rights, agricultural regulations bills

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The cabinet Thursday morning approved five bills set to be tabled in parliament for debate and subsequent approval.

The cabinet session chaired by acting Prime Minister and Minister for Constitutional Affairs Hassan Maalim Mohamud also deliberated on the security situation in the country and the war against Al-shabaab. The cabinet condemned the attack at Jalle Siyad Military Academy on Tuesday and also commiserated with the families of those who lost their loved ones.

Most of the bills approved touch on the regulation and standardisation of the agricultural sector in the country.

The bills approved by the Council of Ministers are:

1. The Somali Disability Rights Bill.
2. The Somali Agricultural Inspection and Legalization Service Agency Bill.
3. The Somali Agricultural Chemicals Control Bill.
4. Draft Law on Seeds and Varieties of Agricultural Plants.
5. Plant Protection and Discrimination Bill
The cabinet also approved amendments to the Specific Financial Sanctions Act.
