GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The federal government of Somalia is set to recruit new military officers, both male and female to join the various ranks of the National Army.

In a statement released Monday, the federal government said the new recruits will undergo a three-year training at the TURKISOM military academy in Mogadishu.

It adds that prospective male applicants are required to send their requests as from 6th July to 18th July while female applicants should submit their requests as from 20th July to 25th July.

The statement further indicates that the applications should be sent to the TURKISOM Training Centre on Jazeera road in Mogadishu.

The move by the federal government is seen as an effort to boost the country’s military as it prepares to take over responsibilities from the African Union forces who are continuing with its plan to drawdown its troops from Somalia.
