FEIT issues warning to parallel team planning to hold elections in Garbaharey

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Chairman of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team (FEIT) Muse Guelleh Yusuf has sent a warning to members of the team acting contrary to the decisions set by the polls body, saying that they would face consequences for their actions.

A statement issued by the electoral body said it had unanimously passed the motion that sought to move the 16-seat election from Garbaharey to Elwak district in Gedo.

 The statement from FEIT was issued hours after a parallel team composed of members from the Federal polls body and the Dispute Resolution Committee announced that they would go ahead with elections in Garbarharey, saying that FEIT ‘does not have the power to change the legal environment’.
