Four critically injured victims of Saturday’s terror attack airlifted to Turkey

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Four critically wounded patients from Saturday’s terrorist attacks in Mogadishu were airlifted to Ankara, Turkey, for specialized treatment.

The four were picked up from Mogadishu by an ambulance sent by the Turkish Ministry of Health in response to the Somali president’s call to the Turkish nation to send medication and specialist doctors, according to the Turkish Embassy in Somalia.

Meanwhile, the Somali Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Adan, received four surgeons who had jetted into the country on Wednesday to offer specialized services to victims of Saturday’s deadly terror attack, which left over 120 dead and at least 330 injured.

According to the Somali Presidency, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a call to President Mohamud Tuesday, conveying a message of condolence to the government and the people of Somalia following the terrorist attack in Mogadishu. The two leaders reiterated the need to root out international terrorism.
