Hirshabelle State Elections Scheduled for August 20 as Electoral Commission Unveils Timetable

GOOBJOOG NEWS|JOWHAR: The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) has officially announced the timetable for the upcoming Hirshabelle State elections, outlining key milestones leading to the vote scheduled for August 20.
The commission said the schedule was issued in line with its mandate under Article 10 of the Law Establishing the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and Article 18 of the National Elections Law.
According to the timetable, voter registration and the distribution of voter cards will begin on August 5. Polling centres and voting locations will be announced on August 7.
The preliminary voter register will be published on August 8, after which the commission will finalise the submission and verification of candidate lists and representatives of political organisations.
The final voter register is set to be released on August 16, while the final list of candidates representing political organisations will be published on August 18.
The commission confirmed that elections for the Hirshabelle State Local Councils and the State House of Representatives will take place on August 20, marking the culmination of the electoral process outlined in the newly released schedule.
