I am still in the race for parliament, Moalimuu says upon return from Turkey

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The Somali Government Spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu has said he is still in the race for parliament following his return from Turkey where he had been undergoing treatment after he survived a bomb attack in Mogadishu.

Moalimuu told journalists upon arrival at Aden Adde Airport that he was still committed to running for a parliamentary seat in his backyard in HirShabelle and urged his clan to consider him for the seat.

The government spokesman who has survived at least four bomb attacks thanked Prime Minister Mohamed Roble and Somalis at large for their support,

“What happened on January 16 was a tragedy. God has saved us. What God has not written about you cannot happen to you. It was God’s destiny and I am satisfied. May God forgive me,” said Moalimuu.
