Justice Minister Pushes Faster Reforms, Accountability at Review Meeting
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal government of Somalia’s justice minister, Hassan Moallin Mohamud has called for faster implementation of reforms and stronger accountability during a senior leadership meeting to review progress across the ministry’s key programmes.
The weekly session brought together top officials, including the permanent secretary and directors general, who presented updates on ongoing projects and policy initiatives.
Discussions focused on priorities following the constitutional review process, including draft legislation that requires political endorsement before submission to the cabinet and parliament.
Mohamud urged officials to accelerate delivery of justice services and address administrative bottlenecks, stressing the need for transparency and efficiency across the ministry.
The meeting also reviewed operational challenges and agreed on steps to improve performance and strengthen institutional capacity.
Somalia has in recent years prioritised justice sector reforms as part of broader state-building efforts, supported by international partners, aimed at improving rule of law and public trust in government institutions.
