GOOBJOOG NEWS|NAIROBI: Wajir County Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yusuf Hussein Ahmed who had been missing and reportedly held by Kenyan intelligence operatives, has resurfaced.

Wajir Member of Parliament Fatuma Jehow confirmed that Ahmed returned to his home in Nairobi’s Eastleigh on Sunday night holding a copy of the Quran.  “Tonight, after six long, agonizing months that felt like an eternity, Allah, in His infinite mercy, has answered our desperate prayers. And He chose this blessed month of Ramadan, a month of mercy and miracles, to grant us this incredible gift,” Jehow wrote in a Facebook post.

She added that, “Our brother, our leader, our Dela Ward Member of Wajir County Assembly, Yussuf Hussein Ahmed, Tolfiyow, is safely back in our arms. This is a huge wave of relief, a tidal wave of joy. I can almost feel the collective sigh of relief from every Wajirian, especially our beloved people of Eldas, who have carried this burden with us.

According to Kenyan media reports, Ahmed arrived Saturday at around 11pm. ‘His cousin, Elyas Abdille told the local media that Ahmed had intimated to them that he had been held in a separate room with activist Bob Njagi who had earlier been released.

“He told us he was being held with many other people within Nairobi for the first two months but was moved to another place he didn’t know. We are yet to establish who dropped him in Eastleigh last evening because he came in the house alone. He only told us that he was held next to Bob Njagi. He was in a separate room but he could hear Njagi screaming,'” Abdille said.
