Peace Delegation Start Talks With Puntland Renegade General

A peace delegation comprising of traditional elders, Islamic scholars and politicians has started mediation talks between Puntland authorities and a mutineer General who deserted the army with his soldiers after being relieved from his duties.

This is taking place in Qarhis location where Puntland army and the general are in standoff.

The delegation headed Sultan Saed Mohamed Garase has met both sides to hear from them and has so far managed to convince them not to engage confrontational movements. They also urged both sides to give the mediation efforts a chance.

General Muhyadin Ahmed Moose has previously, the mutineer general has previously told the media that his actions are not about his firing but about lack of salaries for 15 months by his soldiers.

Puntland has also said on their part that they would not tolerate mutineer but would give the mediation a chance to solve the standoff.
