PM Roble meets with Upper House Speaker and discuss completion of elections

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Sunday evening met with the Speaker of the Upper House of the Somali Parliament Abdi Hashi Abdullahi.

Prime Minister Roble congratulated Hashi for his re-election as leader of the Upper House and for his part, Speaker Abdi Hashi lauded Price Minister Roble for his tenacity in steering the country through a tumultuous electoral process which could have plunged the entire country into chaos.

The Prime Minister and the re-elected Speaker of the Senate discussed the completion of the election and preparations for the presidential election which is expected to roll out in the coming days.

Somalia is currently heading to the peak of the election period as campaigns by candidates running for the country’s top seat have intensified, with up to 10 aspirants running for the seat.
