President Bihi pardons hundreds of petty offenders ahead of Eid al-Fitr

GOOBJOOG NEWS/HARGEISA: The Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, has issued a Presidential order pardoning 360 prisoners held in various prisons for petty offenses ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

“As of today, I grant amnesty to 360 (Three Hundred and Sixty) prisoners of conscience in the country’s prisons on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr as a result of the offenses they were convicted of,” read part of the statement issued by the Somaliland Presidency.

The Presidential order also pointed out that the amnesty will be carried out by the Attorney General on the basis of a list of prisoners.
