President Mohamud to Address Joint Parliamentary Session

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Republic of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is scheduled to address a joint parliamentary session in Mogadishu Wednesday.

Speaking during Tuesday’s parliamentary session, Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe said the president will discuss the general situation in the country.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to inform you that tomorrow, you must attend an extraordinary meeting called by the president, as per the constitution’s provision allowing him to convene both houses at any time. The president will address the latest developments the country during the meeting,” stated Speaker Adan Madobe.

The president is expected to particularly state the government’s progress in completing the constitutional reforms and also touch on the ongoing diplomatic tiff with Ethiopia over the Somaliland naval deal.
