Prime Minister Barre asks ministers to prioritize economic growth

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre has asked the Council of Ministers to prioritize policies that will accelerate growth of the economy.

The Prime Minister who spoke after meeting Members of the National Economic Council in Mogadishu said it is time the country focuses on development of the various sectors and the debt relief program.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed various ways of spurring development through research and cooperation between the various government agencies and the National Economic Council to ensure sustainable growth is achieved after the government secures debt relief.

Prime Minister Barre commended the Council for its efforts in preparing the first phase of the Millennium Development Goals that will enable the country have a strong financial infrastructure.
