Somali forces arrest 5 suspect Al-Shabaab members

At least five suspected Al-Shabaab members were captured in a security operation by Somali forces  in Bardale town of Southern Somali’s Bay region, officials said Sunday.

Ali Adow Issack told reporters that the security forces had targeted the militants during the operation conducted on Saturday night.

“Somali forces had prior intelligence before the operation against the militants was conducted in the district mid last night. The security forces arrested five Al-Shabaab militants, it was a very successful operation,” Shukri said.

Such incidents come as forces from Somalia National Army have stepped up their military operations against the insurgents in the Horn of Africa nation.
