Somali pirates seize a ship near Mogadishu

Somali pirates seize a ship that was transporting timber from Mozambique and held two Kenya crews on board of MV Jamila as Andrew Mwangura, the secretary general of the seafarers union of Kenyan confirmed to the media.

The ship left Mozambique and navigate to Somali capital Mogadishu and move to Mombasa before it met mechanical problems in the sea.

The ship then moved smoothly to the South of the capital where the local residents robbed the ship.

The government of Somalia has declined to give comment about seizure of the ship.
