Somali soldiers seal of defense headquarters in Mogadishu over pay delays
Soldiers from the 12th division of the Somalia National Army have barricaded the industrial area road sealing off the defense headquarters over claims of delayed salaries.
Sources have told Goobjoog News the soldiers have occupied Warshadaha road demanding to be paid salaries barely three days after President Mohamed Farmaajo said his government had paid all salaries to the soldiers since he took office in February.
Speaking during the Somali Youth League celebrations Monday, President Farmaajo said one of his achievements since he took office was paying all soldiers their dues to date.
The soldiers went to the streets in March closing Buluxubay market and later marched towards KM 4 in the Central Business District in Mogadishu demanding their dues.
