Somalia Denies Reports of UAE Ambassador Expulsion
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The federal government of Somalia has rejected reports claiming it plans to expel the United Arab Emirates ambassador, calling the allegations false and misleading.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Somalia said it was concerned about what it described as baseless claims circulating in sections of the media and on social platforms.
The ministry stressed that no such decision had been taken regarding the diplomatic mission of the United Arab Emirates in Mogadishu.
It urged media outlets and the public to rely on official sources and exercise responsibility when sharing information, warning that misinformation could undermine diplomatic relations.
The statement comes amid heightened sensitivity around regional ties, with Somalia maintaining strategic partnerships across the Gulf while seeking to preserve stable diplomatic relations.
