Somalia Expands Civil Service Training to Strengthen Government Operations
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Advisers and senior officials from various Somali government institutions are undergoing a capacity-building programme aimed at strengthening public administration and improving the functioning of federal government institutions.
The training, organized by the Office of the Prime Minister, focuses on cabinet procedures, legal frameworks and administrative processes that guide the work of the Council of Ministers and other state institutions.
Officials said the programme is designed to enhance coordination, improve policy implementation and build institutional capacity across government agencies.
Mohamed Abdirahman Bulbul, Director of the Council of Ministers, said similar training sessions would continue as part of broader efforts to develop a more effective and professional civil service.
The initiative forms part of ongoing governance reforms aimed at improving service delivery and strengthening state institutions as Somalia continues efforts to modernize public administration and accelerate implementation of government priorities.
Participants were also encouraged to strengthen collaboration between government institutions and communications offices to improve transparency and public awareness of government programmes.
Somalia has increasingly invested in civil service training and professional development in recent years as authorities seek to build stronger institutions capable of supporting the country’s long-term governance and development objectives.
