GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening support for refugees and internally displaced communities as part of wider efforts to improve humanitarian services and social protection across the country.

Interior Minister Ali Yusuf Ali, known as Xoosh, made the remarks during a working visit to the headquarters of the National Agency for Refugees and IDPs Somalia in Mogadishu, where he was received by the agency’s chairman Libaan Abdi Igaal.

The minister was briefed on ongoing programmes aimed at expanding humanitarian assistance, improving services for displaced families and advancing long-term resettlement and recovery plans.

Officials highlighted the agency’s growing efforts to strengthen support systems for vulnerable communities affected by conflict, drought and displacement, in line with the federal government’s broader humanitarian and development agenda.

Minister Xoosh praised the agency’s work in delivering assistance and reaffirmed the government’s determination to accelerate programmes focused on humanitarian response, community recovery and social development.

He also visited service centres providing direct care and support to internally displaced families.

The visit comes as the Somali government increases efforts to improve coordination among state institutions and humanitarian agencies to address displacement challenges and strengthen resilience among affected communities.
