Somalia Moves to Attract Investment into Aviation Sector
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia is stepping up efforts to draw foreign investment into its aviation industry, with government officials holding talks aimed at unlocking funding and improving infrastructure.
The Ministry of Planning’s investment department met with the Somali Civil Aviation Authority to discuss ways to promote bankable projects and strengthen the sector’s appeal to investors.
Talks centred on expanding public-private partnerships, easing regulatory processes and mobilising financing for airports, air transport services and related infrastructure.
Officials said improving investor support and service delivery would be key to boosting efficiency and competitiveness in the sector.
The push reflects Somalia’s broader strategy to rebuild critical infrastructure and position itself as a regional aviation hub, as reforms aimed at attracting foreign direct investment gather pace.
