Somalia protests to Kenya for inviting Somaliland representative to briefing

GOOBJOOG NEWS|NAIROBI: Somalia has accused Kenya of violating “its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity” after it invited a representative of the break away region of Somaliland to a diplomatic meeting in Nairobi on Tuesday.

Somalia’s embassy said it was “unfortunate” Kenya had “intentionally invited” a person from Somaliland to Kenyatta’s briefing to the diplomatic corps and had provided “equal privileges as that of a sovereign state despite the protest made by the Somali ambassador”.

Following the turn of events, Somalia said it demands a full explanation from the Kenyan Government for the “violation of its sovereignty”.
