GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia has repatriated 174 Somali citizens who had been facing hardship in Libya, following efforts led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and partner agencies.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Mohamed Ali said the government had made significant efforts to rescue the citizens and facilitate their safe return home.
He noted that those repatriated had endured difficult conditions while in Libya, adding that the government would continue working to assist other Somali nationals still stranded in foreign countries.
The government also urged Somali youth to avoid illegal migration, warning that such journeys often place lives at serious risk.
Authorities said the returnees would receive support including healthcare, temporary shelter, and reintegration assistance to help them rebuild their lives in Somalia.
