Ten Al-Shabaab Members Surrender to Government Forces in Baidoa
GOOBJOOG NEWS | BAIDOA: The Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has said ten Al-Shabaab members surrender to security forces in Baidoa, Southwest State Monday.
The defectors said they made the decision to leave the group due to “internal wrangles” within the group and urged the other youth still with the militant group to surrender to government forces.
Somali army forces, supported by the local clan militia forces and international partners, are expected to restart the military operations in the South West, Jubbaland, Hirshabelle and Galmudug States of Somalia.
Federal Government of Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by the Galmudug president Ahmed Qoor Qoor and Somalia’s defence minister recently visited Harardhere town in the Mudug region and El-dher district in the Galgadud region.
During the visit, the president stated that his administration will not relent in its war against the Al-Shabaab until all areas of central Somalia are liberated.
