GOOBJOOG NEWS | BAIDOA: Three men were executed in the Bay region after a military court found them guilty of murdering civilians during mobile phone robberies and disputes in Southwest State.

The first two convicts, Mukhtar Mohamed Noor and Noor Mohamed Hassan, both in their 20s, faced the firing squad on Wednesday after being found guilty of killing Luul Abdiladif Moalim during a violent robbery.

A day later, the court sentenced Isack Adan to death for the murder of Adan Mohamed in November 2024. His execution was carried out just minutes after the final ruling was delivered.

Relatives of the victims, who gathered at the execution site, expressed relief and a sense of closure, stating that justice had been served.

Speaking to the media, Southwest State’s Ministers of Justice and Internal Security commended security forces for swiftly capturing the perpetrators and praised the judiciary for ensuring a speedy trial.

The executions underscore the Somali government’s firm stance against violent crimes as authorities continue efforts to curb lawlessness in the region.
