UK Backs Somalia’s Political Dialogue Efforts Ahead of Key Consultative Meeting

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The United Kingdom has expressed support for Somalia’s ongoing political dialogue, welcoming the federal government’s move to convene a consultative meeting with the Somali Future Council.

In a statement, UK Ambassador to Somalia Charles King said dialogue remains essential in addressing national priorities and strengthening stability.

“During this critical period, dialogue is the best way to address national priorities, promote stability and support the interests of all Somalis,” he said.

The ambassador reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to supporting Somali-led initiatives, describing the country as a key partner in efforts to advance peace and governance.

The remarks come ahead of a planned national consultative meeting aimed at bringing together political leaders and stakeholders to discuss Somalia’s future direction.

The UK has been a longstanding partner in Somalia’s state-building process, supporting reforms in governance, security and democratic development.
