Update: Death Toll Of Deadly Car Bomb Hits 12
The suicide car bomb hit that convoy escorting UAE’s ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Al Othman, has cost more than death of 10 people and wounded 17 others with some seriously injured.
The explosion happened near a defence ministry hospital (Isbitaalka Xooga) near Tarbuunka Stadium as followed by heavy gunfire.
The ambassador was present in the vehicle when it was targeted, but he is said to have survived the attack.
“We targeted enemy delegates from the UAE and we inflicted casualties upon them and their forces,” Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab, Shabaab’s military operation spokesman told Reuters.
Reliable Reports state that a young girl sustained injuries after AU forces opened fire indiscriminately on the civilians who happened to be near the scene.
Somali government and the ambassador did not comment on the incident.
