Senate leaders hold talks with new UN envoy to Somalia

Senate leaders today held talks with new UN Special Envoy to Somalia Nicholas Haysom at the Senate building in Mogadishu.

Speaker Abdi Hashi and his deputy Abshir Ahmad hosted the new envoy where they discussed a range of issues as the new envoy engages with stakeholders in the country.

The two sides also discussed how they can cooperate as the new envoy starts duty in Somalia succeeding former envoy Michael Keating.

In a related development, the Senate has announced it will resume business on 15th of this month.
