Village police force to be set up in Rural areas, Galmudug constitution minister

village police forces consisting hundreds personnel would soon be set up, constitution Minister Mohamed Osman Ali on Sunday said follow renewed clan clashes.

He said the government will deployed the police to several areas to maintain law and order in areas affected by clan clashes.

“We are deploying enough security personnel and local political leaders are engaging to ensure there is stability. The fighting has stopped,” he said.

He added “It is become necessary to send police in order tackle the insecurity menace”

Earlier this month violence between two clans escalated leaving several people dead and displaced hundreds in areas under Galmudug.

The clans disagreed on the boundaries and other resources that led to the fighting.

Inter clan fighting is common in the region and has left many dead and displaced. This has resulted to poor development.
