Electoral Commission Meets Somali Women to Raise Awareness for Upcoming Polls

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somalia’s Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission Wednesday held a consultative meeting with Somali women in Mogadishu to deliberate on the role women can play in raising awareness for the upcoming direct one-person, one-vote elections.

Members of the Commission engaged in meaningful dialogue and collected views and suggestions presented by the participants.

They commission members in their remarks acknowledged the vital contributions of Somali women to the democratic process and assured their commitment to incorporating these insights.

They pledged to hold similar consultations regularly, reinforcing its dedication to engaging women in shaping free and fair elections.
