Ex-president Ahmed lauds federal government’s efforts in fighting terrorism

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Former president of Somalia Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has lauded the Federal Government of Somalia’s efforts in the fight against Al-Shabaab and restring stability in Somalia.

While paying a courtesy call on President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Villa Somalia Tuesday, the two leaders held lengthy talks on the process of stabilizing the country and fighting terrorism which has caused much suffering to the people of Somalia.

They also discussed the process of modernizing the Somali Security Forces and equipping them to enhance their capacity to secure the country and also the need to improve delivery of government services to the citizens living in recently liberated areas.

The former president further applauded the Somali people for uniting in fighting to restore the nation.

The former President applauded the work of the Government and the people, and the show of oneness in fighting for this nation, and he thanked the President for the warm welcome.

“I wish unity and prosperity for the government and the people of my country, Somalia”, he said.
