Federal government to hand over Mogadishu seaport to Turkish company, Al-Bayrak
Preparations to officially hand over Mogadishu sea port to Turkish company Al-Bayrak is actively going on in the port.
The minister for transport and seaport, the assistant minister, Turkish ambassador to Somalia, politicians and labourers are attending the ceremony.
Hundreds of labourers were seen in the port as the ceremony is going in a section of the seaport.
The federal government has agreed to hand over the management of Mogadishu seaport to the Turkish company Al-Bayrak but Somali parliament has suspended its approval and urged the government to present full details of the agreement.
FAVOR, another Turkish company now fully manages, renovates and modernize Adan Adde international airport in the capital city, Mogadishu.
The airport and the seaport are the main economic resources of the the federal government in Mogadishu.
Albayrak Construction Company has been in service since 1952, and has so far successfully constructed large scale project starting from real estate, Subway and trading centers in Turkey.
One of the giant projects in which Albayrak Construction played the major part of construction, is the Istanbul Subway completed in 2001. One of the most important projects of Turkish transportation sectors Istanbul Subway’s electro-mechanical works, interior architecture and implementations have been performed by Albayrak Construction. Quality of Albayrak has been confirmed with ISO 9001 standards in that giant project.
In 2010 Albayrak started to operate in the logistics sector and transport as Logistics Inc.
