Government announces plans to improve conditions at the Aden Abdulle Airport
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Federal Government of Somalia’s Acting Minister for Transport and Aviation Abdihakim Abdow Haydar, has announced plans to improve the conditions at the Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu.
The minister made the announcement while conducting inspections at the airport accompanied by his deputy Ahmed Jama Omar and the director of the Somali Civil Aviation Authority Ahmed Ahmed Moalim Hassan.
He said that the airport servers as the image of the country and also plays integral role in economic growth.
“The purpose of this inspection is to improve services at the airport starting with the runway, improving security and also beautify the airport which is the image of the country,” the Minister said.
In March, the Federal Government of Somalia together with the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), commissioned a new parking facility adjacent to the Airport Gate as part of the government’s measures to reduce congestion and improve security at the facility.
