Hirshabelle Warns Transport Operators and Airlines Against Following Unauthorized Orders

Storyline:National News

GOOBJOOG NEWS|JOWHAR: Hirshabelle’s Minister of Transport and Aviation, Farah Mohamed Osman, has warned transport operators in Hiran region and airlines serving Ugas Khaliif Airport in Beledweyne against following directives that have not been issued by the regional ministry.

A statement from the ministry said transport operators and airlines must follow instructions from the authority responsible for transport and aviation in Hirshabelle. It also warned commercial airlines against becoming involved in political disputes in Hiran, urging them to limit their activities to the services covered by their licences.

The ministry said legal action could be taken against anyone who violates its directives.

The warning comes amid escalating tensions between Hirshabelle’s administration and some politicians and elders in Hiran. Days earlier, Hiran Governor Mohamed Hussein Mohamed, known as Mohamed Arab, rejected what he described as his dismissal by Hirshabelle and reportedly ordered airlines not to bring officials from the regional administration to Beledweyne.

The dispute has affected administrative affairs and the movement of officials. It has also raised concerns that political tensions could disrupt transport and air services in the region.
