Nine-Member Committee Appointed to Oversee Election of Somalia’s Lower House Speaker

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU :Acting Speaker of Somalia’s House of the People, Sacdiya Yasin Haji Samatar, has appointed a nine-member committee to organize and oversee the election of the Speaker of the House of the People.
The appointment was announced in an official letter from the Office of the Speaker, which said the decision was made in accordance with the constitutional powers vested in the Speaker and the House’s Rules of Procedure.
The committee will be responsible for preparing and managing all aspects of the Speaker’s election, while ensuring that the process complies with the Provisional Constitution and the House’s internal regulations.
The nine-member election committee comprises:
